Today is the first day of my experiment saying yes to everything.  It could be a challenge since I don’t really feel like doing a whole lot today, but I did make a commitment so I’m game for anything!

As fate would have it, this morning I got a call from my friend Angie.  She is a famous radio personality in the city in which we live.  She told me that she was going to be judging a chili contest in support of a local charity, and if I wanted to come check it out.   Now this is something I probably would have said yes to anyways because Angie is one of my favourite people, so it was easy to say yes. 

When the time came, I proceeded by motorcycle to the big chili contest.  When I got there, it turned out that one of the other judges couldn’t make it.  So when Angie asked me if I wanted to be a judge, I realized that I might normally have said no to something like that.  Since I premade this decision, I said, “I’d love to.”

Some of the chili was amazing and some of it had me breathing fire, but I must admit that it was a real hoot to be a part of it!  The contest lasted all of about 1 hour and it was a treat to also see the happy looks on the faces of the ladies who came up to get their prizes after being announced winners in the various categories.

Later in the evening, I got a call from my sister who informed me that her and my brother in law were going to do some light hiking tomorrow, and if I wanted to come along…
